| Blog # 5 Nail color of the month: Though it was really close this month a light lilac gel polish (“shellac”) color called “Always right” was more popular by a few hands. I guess it was so tight because of the on and off weather we had, clients didn’t know whether to go for a summer color or a winter color or a neutral. Next on the list of favorites AND from the all-time list of favorites, the Swedish retailer, IKEA ! So, for those that don’t know, Matt is moving to Ontario in the month of May. This being said he has to furnish an apartment. IKEA (and Wal-Mart) have played a huge roll on helping him find everything he needs from A (Apples) to Z (Zebra patterned bed sheets). And those candles -- ON POINT ! HEHEHE. No seriously, I love IKEA candles ! If any of you have been thinking to revamp a room or add a few welcoming touches to your homes it is definitely a place to check out, however I would warn not to go on a Saturday or Sunday since it gets pretty busy (something about 1$ hotdogs and Swedish furniture that people go crazy for). Some of my favorite items from there that I guided him in buying are mattresses, pillows (go for the goose down filled ones they are FANTASTIC), bedsheets, duvet covers, kitchen accessories (oven mitts, heat pads), dishes and much more. Wal-mart of course he is resorting to for all his cleaning supplies, towels and extra stuff that IKEA doesn’t carry in addition to his weekly groceries. Next is something I got to thank my “little sister”, Melissa for introducing me to. Between my shoulder and jaw injury and the tension it brings that causes worse posture than before, my body is broken. Ok, a bit of exaggeration but you get my point. About a year ago Mel said “Dude, you gotta go see this guy. I’m sure he can help you.” Andddd I finally took her advice. I went for the first time in 2014 and LOVED how I felt when I left there. I unfortunately put it on the back burner and neglected my body for about 9 months till I couldn’t handle the tension/pain anymore. I went back to see this miracle worker (Alan) at the beginning of April and once again I wasn’t disappointed ! When I walked out of there I felt my posture was better like I was walking with a straight posture again. I was soo relaxed after my session with him that I went straight home and took a nap; what a great feeling. You do, however, have to be open minded before you go see Alan. Why ? Well, the bulk of my massage was done with his feet. I felt that any description I made of Alan’s art would be unjust to him and his skills so in his own words here is what Alan can do. “[I offer] gravity assisted barefoot massage combined with passive stretching [that] is a fusion of Eastern and Western cultures. [My] treatments focus on dissolving scar tissue while helping inflammation patterns disappear. [These treatments are] suited for athletes proficient in [various] sports [or] for people from all walks of life who feel chronically debilitated from the pressures of their job, poor posture, career or lifestyle.” – Alan Michael Wong Alan's a post graduate with mastery level status in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy® from Health and Bodyworks (USA). My version? He fixes me. Visit his website, go on ! What are you waiting for ?! http://alanmichaelwong.weebly.com/ Another favorite for the month of April was seeing a spiritual medium. For those who aren’t sure what this is, it’s someone that’s able to communicate with people that have “crosses over” (passed away). I know a lot of people just simply don’t believe in this and that’s totally your prerogative. For those that are interested but don’t know where to go, or skeptical even, I recommend going see the man I went to see, Phil Trombino. I won’t get into detail but I will tell you that I went with a friend and we both loved it. As much as he was able to say things that shocked us, I can understand how some can be skeptical and think things can easily be made up. A plus side to Phil is he does “proof of presence”. He basically “proves” to you that he ISN’T making anything up and that a spirit or spirit(s) are guiding him through it. Really, really cool. Giving him a call and asking him for info on the session is super encouraged, he’s got a special gift but he’s also super nice and helpful. Viewing recommendation of the month: Saw one came out in October of 2014,.from that day forward I was (and still am) a HUGE fan of the Saw series ! More precisely, I would say I am a Jigsaw fan, not necessarily of the Saw series : you’ll understand why shortly. From the end of March to mid-April Matt and I marathoned through the Saw movies. I feel nothing can top Saw 1, but Saw 2 and 3 come close. However, I’m not the biggest fan of Saw 4 or 5 and especially not Saw 3D. I super enjoyed the meaning behind Saw 1 to 3. Yes, it’s gory and everyone sees it as a horror movie brought to us by a serial killer, but see it as a man (Jigsaw) trying to teach those that didn’t appreciate life, to do so. Their life is in THEIR hands. I do agree that it’s a little twisted but if you pay close attention to the words and to the meaning you will see the true idea of the movies. Saw 4 and 5 I find lost meaning and became more about just killing. And Saw 3D, honestly, just spare yourself. The special effects in my view were horrible and the story line was bad. The only super cool part were the last 3 minutes of the movie where everything tied together. But everything before that could have been cut out. I feel I wasted a bit of my life watching Saw 3D… |
