Blog #6
Nail color of the month:
Ok, this month was absolutely impossible to nominate a favorite color. So many different colors were done on clients from pastels, to bright’s, to nudes. Having said that, "Nail color of the month", for the month of May, wasn’t selected based on the most requested color or combo, BUT instead was selected based on the positive feed-back about pictures I posted on the Cynthia Aesthetics FaceBook page.
Ever since I was little I have had a guilty pleasure of taking pictures, the number of times I heard “Cynthia, film isn’t free !” (yea, BACK IN MY DAYS we used film haha). I recently took a basic online photography class and it motivated me to start getting a little more serious about photography. Long story short, I still love taking pictures and started thinking of doing it as a side “job” (portraits, landscape). So I’m working on building experience and a mini portfolio and what better way to do so then by mixing both my passions. I’ve progressed from a “baby” photographer taking simple, boring, messy shots into an amateur photographer taking focused and well-structured little masterpieces. Above this blog is one of my new creations part of my mini portfolio - I’ve chosen one picture from a super fun photo-shoot I did in May !
The bright yellow color is “Glowstick” by Orly
The black is “Black Onyx” by OPI
Next on the list of favorite’s is once again an ElskaBody product. I just want to make it very clear that I’ve been VERY in love and loyal to a Gehwol foot cream for over 10 years now, I refused to try anything else cause I just simply LOVED my foot cream, till I got a little curious about the ElskaBody foot lotion – I’ve been cheating on Gehwol ever since. Love the texture and how it keeps my feet soft. I have to be honest though and admit that it took me 2-3 days to get used to part of the smell. The lotion’s smell is a mix of a nutty and mint scent and while the mint smell was familiar the nutty part took 2 or 3 applications before getting used to it Now it smells of just a clean light mint. It hasn’t completely replaced my Gehwol foot cream but I do use the ElskaBody foot lotion more frequently.
Next is one of my many soccer jerseys ! Ever see those face care commercials where they introduce a "new and improved" product ? It’s generally just a remix of the original product with some new packaging and a different scent but mainly its the same thing. I recently had a "new and improved" moment with one of my soccer teams. My TotalCampo (Ital-Ellas) team was in need of a team bonding activity and in the past I used to make team events whether it be going out to eat for someones birthday or a crossfit class at CitalFort crossfit, but organizing events was getting hard and time consuming so, I figured, what better way to get together and enjoy ourselves than to form another soccer team and play together more than once a week ?! So in addition to our regular Ital-Ellas TotalCampo team, Ital-Ellas now has a QCSL soccer team that is in essence a "new and improved" version - the team has mostly the same familiar faces BUT our jersey’s are new and improved ! Hey, CatWoman, heeeeeeey.
“It’s the little things that count” favorite of the month is a supper at Julep with Matt and my friends, Mike and Mel. We all ate together the night before Matt left for Mississauga. Mike has been a very close friend since the first week of Sec 1 (September 2000) and Mel I’ve known since I believe grade 4, she is my little sister, no other way to describe it. It’s never a dull moment when Mike, Mel and myself are together and I’m happy (and part of me feels bad) that Matt can be a part of it watching from the side lines and thinking to himself “What.The.Heck ?!”.
Long, painful laughing story, short, I end my "May Favorites" blog with the GIF Matt made of the 3 of us that night. Describes us rather accurately.
"Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."
